A new Camp No Limits adventure
Jordan has attended Camp No Limits Missouri every year since she was three… But this year, she missed out because of her amazing opportunity to attend the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team Kids Camp. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I’m so glad she attended the camp. But we were so sad to miss our Missouri camp friends. Amazingly, our county family services program was able to pay for Jordan and I to attend any Camp No Limits… so we decided to use my frequent flyer miles and head off to Camp No Limits Maryland this weekend!
We are both so excited to meet new kids and have a new Camp No Limits experience since we’ve never attended a CNL camp outside of Missouri. We are huge fans of finding opportunities to meet other kids and adults with limb differences. When Jordan started attending camp in 2009, we had worked hard to find opportunities to meet other families. It meant a lot to us for Jordan to meet other kids to make sure she knew she’s not alone. Any events that bring our families and community together are special to us.
Are you planning to attend camp this weekend? We can’t wait to meet you? Have you attending other camps? I’d love to hear what you thought about it. I promise to report back about our experience soon!
We will be in Maryland as well this weekend! So very excited to meet you! This is our first CNL for my son Walter who is 14 months old. We are so excited and can’t wait to meet everyone there! See you soon!
Yay, Erin! See you soon.
Jen- please tell me more about your county and how it has provided services to you. I would have NEVER thought or known about that.(whenever you have time)
@Shanda – Jordan was approved for Early Intervention when she was a baby (I fought hard for it). That put us into our county’s family services program. We’ve gone through yearly visits and assessments. Jordan is currently approved for services until she turns 18. It’s really wonderful.
