A Style All Her Own

Miss Jordan has a bold sense of fashion. I often tell people I meet that I consider Jordan my mini-me + pink. I’ve never been super stylish. But friends, Jordan has it going on. Maybe it’s from the years and years of adventures to Disney World. Maybe it’s because we visited a Little Miss Matched store at a formative clothing time. But whatever it is, Jordan has a solid mix and match style. It’s fun to watch. These days, add in her sparkle-purple helper arm and a pink flower backpack and she’s ROCKING it.
Jordan and I had a chance to go shopping together this summer and her eyes popped with the latest styles of sparkles and colors out this year. It’s a good thing I don’t take her shopping all of the time or else we’d be completely broke!
Jordan’s top style picks for this year include:
Wide headbands – We buy most of ours from L.L. Bean but I’ve started seeing them in other stores as well. Keep an eye out for them. The added plus to this fashion style? It prevents Jordan from holding her hair out of her eyes with her little arm. If she isn’t wearing her helper arm, that little arm goes up and holds the hair out of the way. Wide headbands seem to be the most fashionable and easy way to stop that habit.
Mismatched – Jordan has a range of solids and prints in shirts, skirts and leggings that are easily mixed and matched. It’s a concept Jordan first grabbed onto after she scored a pile of LittleMissMatched Disney gear.
Sparkles – Jordan is lucky to have triplet cousins who are two years older than her. Two of the triplets are girls and they have handed down many, many skirts. Mainly because they don’t like wearing skirts anymore. So Jordan has grabbed all of the sparkle shirts and tops she could use. The sparkle clothes also match the sparkles in her helper arm.
With the new school year, there’s lots of opportunities to snag some new styles. If you’re in the St. Louis area, there’s a super fun chance to learn about back to school styles when the Macy’s St. Louis Galleria teams up with Radio Disney on September 7th at 2pm. There will be games and snacks and even Calum Worthy from Austin & Ally. If you find some fun back to school styles and make a minimum of a $35 kids purchase, you’ll receive an exclusive Macy’s school lunch bag! Plus, you’ll have a chance to learn about a way to win a Radio Disney Studio adventure.
What are your go to school styles? If you have school uniforms, do you find ways to make weekend style extra fun?
I had to wear uniforms to school until college, but I definitely had my own style going on when the weekend arrived. I wish I’d had a sparkly purple prosthetic growing up. My mom never let me get anything but boring old flesh-colored arms, and I’m still a teensy bit angry at her for it.
