A vision for a go-go-gadget hand

Almost immediately after Jordan was born, Randy and I started talking about the ultimate prosthetic hand. Randy had a vision of a hand that included a phone, weapons and tools that would help her through any and every situation. If you’re my age, you probably remember the cartoon version of Inspector Gadget. I want my kid to have a Go-Go-Gadget arm just like him! Fast forward to today and it seems much more possible.

I’ve written about the e-NABLE group and how volunteers are building prosthetics for children and adults around the world. It’s pretty remarkable. And then, someone comes up with a SUPER FUN helper arm that makes me so happy. Have you seen the Iron Man hand? It’s amazing.

Isn’t that awesome?

This is just one of the many awesome things happening in the prosthetic world. I love keeping up with it all and envisioning the future when Jordan can live an even more convenient life even if she has the inconvenience of one hand.
