An awesome Born Just Right meet up in Chicago
What happens when you ask a bunch of awesome people who read Born Just Right if they want to hang out? Well, more than 40 people end up meeting at the Chicago Children’s Museum! I’m so thrilled by how many people braved the Chicago traffic to spend time with Born Just Right families. Check out the picture of that crowd! And that isn’t even every person who attended It’s incredible. We had 40+ attendees!
We also had fun. The Chicago Children’s Museum supported our event and made it possible for Born Just Right to purchase the admission tickets. Jordan’s prosthetic company, Scheck & Siress, helped purchase food tickets so all attendees of the meet up could use vouchers to eat lunch in the Navy Pier Family Pavilion. Navy Pier even gave us coupon books for families to use while they visited.
We talked, the kids played and the parents had a chance to connect. To make the event even more fun, Ryan Haack from Living One Handed dropped by. I say dropped when he actually drove in from Madison, Wisconsin to visit the gathering. We had families who drove in from a number of places.. One awesome mom and her cutie head son flew in from Virginia! Amazing.
We were able to help transport some attendees over to Millennium Park to play at the bean and the nearby water area thanks to the Acadia Denali General Motors shared with us. All in all, it was a very successful day. Jordan told me she never wanted it to end.
I have many pictures and more to share. But first, I need to go to sleep and prepare for running in the Chicago Rock n Roll Half Marathon to help raise money for Camp No Limits 2014. It would be INCREDIBLE if you could pitch in and help me reach a mini-goal of $500 before race day ends. That will help send one child to camp and it will help me feel like running 13.1 miles is worth it!
