BOOST by Born Just Right Workshop in Bogotá

BOOST by Born Just Right is making a visit to South America! Our Senior Program Director Kate Ganim is in Bogotá, Colombia. She reached out to the leaders of Fabrilab to see if she could work with kids in the area who have upper limb differences. Fabrilab is a business dedicated to building 3D printed prosthetics for amputees, mainly children. The team works with kids to help them create ones that match their personal style and interests.

Bogotá is home of many amputees for a number of reasons. There are children with upper and lower amputations from a number of different traumatic experiences. Groups like Fabrilab offer a space to offer support for those kids. This weekend, Kate will introduce design thinking to five children from the region and see what kind of creative ideas they think up.

Fabrilab will host BOOSTxBJR for two Saturdays in a row. This is the first time we’ve taken our curriculum out of the country. We hope the kids have fun and everyone learns from the experience!

The Fabrilab has an awesome outdoor area where the kids will enjoy lunch.

Kate will share updates about our first day sometime next week and we hope we will have a chance to share some of the ideas the kids come up after their second Saturday meeting.

BOOST by BJR doesn’t happen without the support of people like you! Please consider donating to our organization or consider introducing us to any possible sponsors for our future workshops.
