Dancing with smiles
I love dance recitals. I love how excited Jordan gets. I love how she’s SUCH a girl. She is all about me getting her makeup on and patiently lets me do her hair. It’s the only time I can comb and brush and pull out tangles and she doesn’t complain. I love the shocking difference in how Jordan looks when you do her eyes. I rarely do my eyes, so it’s funny to say that I’ve put more eye makeup on Jordan this year than I did on myself. Jordan is only allowed to wear makeup for dance, so she’s been looking forward to today for a while.
Earlier in the day, I had Jordan watch a video of her recital dance just to give her a refresher… and I guess it made a huge difference. Jordan SMILED so much and seemed to really love being on stage. I had not seen her perform this dance this well until tonight. To add to the excitement, Jordan’s grandparents came into town to enjoy the show. We’re all very proud.
So why not watch the performance! Here you go:
I also happened to discover another parent who shot video of the entire recital… and I trimmed out Jordan’s dance. So if you want to have a better view of her dancing feet, check out this video. (Thank you to Melissa, who I don’t know but I love her video.)
If you’re curious to see how Jordan has grown in her dancing abilities. Here’s the last two years of holiday dance performances.

Angel Performance in 2009
After watching all three performances, I’m SO impressed to see Jordan’s growth. She’s SO much more attentive compared to a year ago. How cool. And now this stage mom is going to go to bed and stop gushing with pride!
I think u have every right to gush. Jordan looks absolutely beautiful and her smile is awesome and u r responsible for that smile. She is such a happy kid b/c u have done such a great job raising her. Congtats to both of u. I can’t wait to c what Isaac will be able to do, hopefully not dance though! LOL
