Inspired… And ready to grow

I have spent the last couple of weeks attending conferences that have really helped me think about my career and my passions. This site is my deepest passion. I love my family, I love our blessings and I love the community I’ve been able to meet, learn and support here and across other sites (especially Facebook). I also had a chance to really think. You know, quietly think about what matters to me the most. The ocean is really helpful in those thought processes.

I’m passionate helping others and reaching out to let all families of special needs kids know everything is going to be okay! Our kids were born just right. We can help them grown and become amazing people who can do anything and everything. We may go about it in a path that is different than we expected, but it’s still a reachable goal.

In my current career, I help share news content to my market and I help develop future journalists as I work an an NBC affiliate and the Missouri School of Journalism. The skills I have to teach have been an incredible benefit to me as I continue to grow and write here at Born Just Right. In the last year or so, I’ve wanted to put more and more effort into this site… Even if my job is very consuming.

After attending the SXSW Interactive Festival in Austin, TX and then the BlogHer bet conference in Silicon Valley, I am more determined than ever to take this site and help it grow. I want to spread the conversations and stories we share here and on Facebook. I want to help more families and kids grow and be happy – with or without special needs.

That’s where I need you. I need your support as I look to grow. I need your advice. And most of all, I would love if if you’d be willing to share your stories of your amazing kids. If you’d like to be a part of Born Just Right to share your stories, please fill out this form below and I’ll contact you. Thank you so much for your support and love on this site. I look forward to continuing to grow and share for many years to come.

I am interested. I am not the most creative writer, but I’m sure when it comes to my daughter the words will just flow out.
