Living the puppy life
Over the weekend, our family added a new member. He’s eight pounds, seven ounces, has dark, dark brown hair and has many, many, many pointy teeth. Eight-week-old Bailey the goldendoodle is soaking up every extra moment of attention in our household.
I also immediately caught a cold after a loud and challenging first night with the pup. Crate training, cold weather and a head cold are a messy combination.
Anyway, we’re all having a blast trying to keep Bailey focused on chewing the right things and cuddling. Jordan has taken to carrying the floppy pup around even when he’d rather sleep. She’s learning how to use a leash. But what she’s having the hardest time learning is accepting that sometimes the puppy should sleep. Sometimes he needs his space. And he’s a baby who wants to chew… So she needs to hand him a chew toy instead of running away screaming.
The world of new puppy is sweet and cuddly and exhausting. And we’re loving it. Thanks to what appears to be an epic week of snow days, Bailey is getting a lot of intensive family time. He won’t even know what to do when we leave the house. He thinks we’re here all the time!
As I battle this cold and we figure out the puppy world, I may be a little behind in posting here. So bear with us. I know we have all kinds of puppy adventures ahead.

Congrats, congrats, congrats!! Bailey is absolutely adorable!! I am so very glad that you adopted a mutt {Or hybrid? I get myself in trouble for calling these Beautifully Unique so-called “breeds” mutts!! Not that I care. Because a mutt is a mutt is a mutt in my book!! One-hundred percent lovable no matter how you say it!! Sorry. I am done!!} I also love that Bailey is black!! Most of the Goldendoodles that I see are yellow!! So!! He is different from most!! 😉
I am sorry that you caught a cold, Friend!! I am currently battling one as these words are being typed. Although. My still-healing right knee injury is hurting worse than the sore throat this morning!! 😉
Snap some pictures of Jordan walking Bailey and post them!! I find that it takes twain arms to exercise my mutt, Rose!! 😉
Get well soon!! 😉
