Love is in the air
Love is in the air at our household. In between the time when the kids are bickering at each other, I feel like we’re in a very special time where both kids are sweet and cuddly and are so loving. There’s something about the range between six years old and almost ten years old that is calm and sweet. Maybe it’s my knowledge of teenage years to come. But I’m so thankful for the time I have loving on my kids. I’m also thankful for all of the love we get from you, our reader!
Before I share really big news in our extended family, I wanted to share a link to a wonderful Valentine’s Day love note from my friend Julia Roberts at Kidneys and Eyes. She is also one of the co-creators of Support for Special Needs where I help write weekly community updates. Her love note is to you, the special needs parent:
I love how fierce you are about your kid.
I love how you protect them and when you have to, I love how you fight for them.
Be sure to read the whole note… because every special needs parents deserve to hear the love that sometimes we get too busy to hear.
I know I felt the love when I got extra hugs from Cameron today and when Jordan jumped on me to give me a big hug during her school Valentine’s Day party.
And now… our big loving news:
Our family is SO excited to welcome four new members of our family. Sunday night, the kids’ uncle (my brother-in-law) proposed to his super awesome girlfriend. She is the mom to fabulous eight-year-old triplets who we love just as much as we love their mom. Jordan and Cameron met the kids for the first time in December 2010 and they’ve had a great friendship from the very beginning.
The last time the kids spent time together was in October and I know all five of the kids are looking forward to our next chance to hang out. My family is head over heels in love and so thrilled to know we can officially have very wonderful people to call our family.
