#onehandedproblems

The fun thing about being different is having fun with it! I was on Twitter yesterday when I discovered Born Just Right friend, Caitlin, mentioning this:

I tweeted how it was a perfect reason to use #onehandedproblems on Twitter. Why not have fun about limb differences? We started a list on Twitter. But we should keep it going here. So far we have:

  • Sleeves that won’t stay rolled up
  • Winter coat sleeves
  • Leaving a helper arm sticking out of your purse
  • Tying shoes
  • Little tasks that take extra work

You know you have one or ten… Share them in the comments below! Also! I’m holding a give away soon in honor of the great experience I had at SXSW. I’ll write about that more tomorrow!

(By the way, Caitlin came up with a REALLY cool Pinterest page of inspiring people with limb differences!)

When checking in at Chuck E. Cheese and the guy working at the front door keeps asking my son for his left hand so he can stamp it. (Noah kept just looking at him like he was crazy!)
Tracing two hands for kindergarten projects like hand print reindeer antlers (he just traced his right hand twice, but I suppose he could have had a “special” antler as well).
Not having an extra hand to use while sucking his thumb. (It’s about time he stopped that anyway!)
Trying to pry apart those stubborn Legos!

Jordan had wrinkle thumb for years. I love the Chuck E Cheese moment!
      Those are all perfect #onehandedproblems!
