Share a different "normal" at TEDxCoMo
We haven’t posted a lot lately but that doesn’t mean life has gotten boring around here!
In the last week, three very big deal things came together.
First: Born Just Right is officially a non-profit! The IRS has registered us as a 501(c)3 and that means we can start fundraising toward our goal of giving design experience to more kids! We are so excited. One of Jordan’s first realizations in the last year is knowing more kids who live in the disability world have a chance to learn how to take that perspective and turn it into all kinds of things that are fun and helpful. We are getting close to relaunching our website. You can keep and eye on the updates and sign up for a new Born Just Right newsletter by going to bornjustright.org. (Org! See? That’s new. I’m so excited.)
Second: Jordan and I have signed with literary agents to pitch books! All kinds of books! But first, Jordan and I are working on an autobiography about her life that kids can enjoy. I’m also working on a parenting memoir. But Jordan’s hope is that is just the beginning. She has all kinds of ideas for fun fictional books as well.
Third: Jordan wrapped up her first TEDx talk last night! She and I have worked on it for the last month and I am so proud of her. Standing up in a room full of people in a huge auditorium is not easy for anyone of any age. I honestly feel like she pulled off something magical for an eleven-year-old. You can get a little peek into her talk in our local newspaper’s front page article. She talked about how she sees the world differently from you and me. I will certainly share the video once it’s online.
There’s so much to do and say… I promise to keep everyone up to date as soon as I can.
Keep them.coming. Your posts are an inspiration as we now have a new two week old grand daughter with the same special attribute. Thank you
Tom, congrats on the arrival your granddaughter. She is going to teach you so much. Please reach out to me if I can help the family in any way: jen (at) bornjustright (dot) org.

Jen – Jordan is an amazing young woman. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for her. I know you know Connor and I am excited to see his future. We need to approach and knock down every barrier!
Thanks, Dave! I know Connor will certainly beat down any and all barriers. We love spending time with him when we can!
