That overwhelming moment
We are a busy family.
If you add in our activities and travel and my work travel, a few things have been ignored lately: I am not exercising enough and the house is a total mess. No, not like the Hoaders show. But there are piles everywhere. The house feels like it’s kind of closing in on itself. And we need to clean up. We’ve lived in the same house for almost 12 years. That’s longer than I’ve lived anywhere. I have a feeling I’ve downsized regularly just because I was moving a lot. But times have changed, our house hasn’t and we have a LOT of things. I think we have a lot of things that aren’t needed that are piled with things that are needed. And clearly, something needs to change.
So after a bit of a household rumble about the gross mess we are living in… I mentioned it to a good friend of mine who I used to work with in DC. And at the spur of the moment, she’s planning to visit us over the weekend to help with a massive clean up effort. Crazy, right? Who does that? Someone looking for an excuse to get away and hang with the family. Wow.
I’m excited and ready to dig in. Maybe, just maybe, the house will be less messy and our life can feel a little less crazy.
After that? It’s time to figure out how to get back to exercise even when it’s crazy cold out.
